I am both an adventurer who travels and an intellectual who craves home and hearth. I taught elementary in Mexico for two years while soaking up every opportunity to experience the culture (in the form of food, dance, architecture, language, personal relationship, etc.) before I returned to my home town. This blog is a way for me to share about my travels, make observations about culture, and process the challenge of returning to my home culture. Here I also share stories I have written and mull over interesting issues.
I ultimately find purpose in Jesus Christ and I am striving to do my part in bringing about the day when people from every nation, tribe, and tongue will give Him glory. Traveling has brought me a better understanding of how to respect other cultures and look for a natural expression of the church within them. Leaving a place of comfort and becoming vulnerable in another culture has been an difficult, but incredible way of experiencing personal growth.
